> Main Activities:

Purpose & Mission
The CND Consultant in Network Consulting group is responsible for
competitive and customer focused Core Network solutions, sales support of
Ericsson Core Network products and solutions. The CND Consultant will,
according to the Network Consulting process, perform :

• Sales/Marketing support of Core Equipment and Solution
• Sales and Tender support.
• Core Systems Performance Enhancement
• Network design on MSS & MPBN
  

Key Responsibilities

• The CND Consultant shall prepare competitive and customer focusedCore Network solutions, design Core Networks, e.g. nominal and detailed network design.
• Doing technical presentations and arranging service seminars for the external and internal customer within Ericsson.
• Actively partaking in the respective fields and taking a lead of the project to achieve successful delivery of the relevant service.
• Provide technical support in customer discussions and respond to questions related to Core networks.
• Conduct Core network presentations for both internal and external customers.
• Keep updated information on Ericsson's and the competitors' development of Core network equipment, planning methods and services.
• Assist customers with license bid preparations
• Design Core networks, e.g. HLD and LLD for Core and BSC systems.
• Assist in hand-over from tender to project phase.
• Assist in the preparation of expansion network expansions or migration plans to MSS
• Investigate impact on system when conducting feature trials related to Core network 3 (1)
  

Educational Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum BSC Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• At least 4 years in the GSM Environment
• 2 years in CORE design
• 1 year project management
  

Skills and Competencies Required

• Knowledge in Ericsson specific data support systems, which includes MS Office package, Internet/Intranet, Pcat, Cmex, Candi. (in house developed tool knowledge is not mandatory)
• Knowledge in mobile systems as well as understand the factors that affect system performance in the area of switching/routing, Core base stations, mobile data and transmission.
• Ability and knowledge of how to manage technical project work, which includes management of the technical part of a tender and delivery of project in the area of Core Network Consulting Service.
• Knowledge of competitor's products, system solutions, strengths and weaknesses which include strategy, business concept, profitability, price, customer base, technical strength, market share and products.
• Knowledge of the market trends, business drivers, customer needs and subscriber behavior. Understanding on how political, technical and financial trends on the market will affect the operator's environment. Also on how applicable laws and regulation's in the market affects the Operators business.
• Knowledge about internal as well as external customers and awareness of their situation and needs.
• Fundamentals in economics, financials and accounting, including understanding of financial reports, financial/economics indicators and financial planning.
• Ability and knowledge about how to convey messages and to share knowledge and experiences in a clear and open manner. This includes having a pedagogical and encouraging way of communicating in order to generate commitment among colleagues, suppliers and customers.
• Knowledge about how to understand different cultures, religion, gender, race and background, and being able to adapt to, benefit from and respect various differences.
• Ability and willingness to work in teams and share competence.

Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates with 4 years and above Experience in Ericsson relative functional area to apply only:
To achieve and maintain a high level of the Radio Network Services, and ensuring high quality performance on all technical activities, the highest possible level of customer satisfaction. Provide effective and enough technical support for the Saudi Telecom Company STC, and continually seek for quality improvements within the SOC project.

Work Areas:
The main activities are the following:
- The BTS Optimization Engineer should have a good knowledge in the field of radio communication, acquired through technical training and practical experience in Ericsson or another equivalent company
- Monitor the daily busy hour statistics
- Responsible for reducing congestion and drops, improving the Handover, Location Update, Paging & CSSR in his designated area, issuing capacity requests whenever need.
- Responsible for testing the radio performance for the newly integrated sites.
- Discuss the frequency retunes requests with his team leader for his designated area.
- Responsible for the drive test analysis and taking the necessary action to improve the performance of his area.
- Change the radio related parameters, by using the GATS, which is an Oracle Database designed to streamline the interaction between the Optimization team & Radio Frequency team with O&M.
- Participate in technical discussions with the customer in order to gather product-related information.
- Perform Radio Network Surveys, i.e. visit possible base station sites in order to judge if they are suitable from a radio network point of view (Hardware & Location).
- Evaluate and adapt new methods and technologies regarding Radio Network Optimization & Tuning.
- Help the customer to get more knowledge about Ericsson's products by holding seminars and presentations of new or enhanced products and functionality.
- Ability to use the following tools: TCP, Tems Investigation, PMR, CNA, CHA, BO, MTR & MapInfo.
- Be involved in trial projects for new products & features.
- Act as a mentor for the younger STC engineers.

General Competence

- Fluent in written and spoken English, Arabic a plus
- Be able to work in a team
- Good communication skills.
- Flexible and responsive to changing work patterns and demands.
- Able to work as a team-member and lead engineer staff from time to time.
- Open approach to solving problems and dealing with new proposals.
- A thorough and methodical approach to work.
- Must be able to work to tight time scales.
